What is ZEW?

ZEW is a global nonprofit alliance dedicated to accelerating climate action through collaboration, storytelling, and systems change. We connect frontline communities, organizations, brands, and individuals committed to building a zero-emissions, regenerative future. 

What is ZEW’s mission?

ZEW focuses on accelerating global efforts towards achieving net-zero emissions through strategic funding and partnerships with nonprofits and climate action initiatives.

How is ZEW different from other similar platforms?

Does ZEW provide funding?

ZEW is not a funding body itself. We connect our partners/missions on the ground with funding opportunities, co-design campaigns, and co-host initiatives that may lead to resourcing through aligned allies and donors. 

How are supported projects selected?

In a nutshell, ZEW partners with nonprofit organizations that have a proven track record of effectively reducing emissions and advocating for environmental sustainability. Our selection process prioritizes transparency, impact, and innovation.

How does ZEW ensure transparency?

We regularly publish reports and updates on the impact of our projects and funds distribution.

Where is ZEW based?

While our office is based in Lisbon, Portugal, we have a global team of experts that work from across the world. As of right now, we have volunteers in 30 countries, spanning 5 continents.

Who can join or collaborate with ZEW?

In general, we are open to collaborating with:

• NGOs working on climate, environmental justice, or regenerative solutions

• Brands and companies aligning with climate justice principles

• Celebrities, artists, influencers, and storytellers

• Individuals seeking to support bold climate action

However, this is not an exhaustive list. As long as you have a desire to make the world a better place, you will have a place in the ZEW movement!

How is ZEW funded?

Donations from private donors, CSR, foundations, and others will help cover operational costs and increase public donations and impact. We also actively seek and apply for various grants and eco-funds, both private and public. These grants allow us to take on ambitious projects that require significant financial backing. We also rely on fundraising events and purpose-driven sponsorships.

How do I donate to ZEW?

You can make a donation by visiting our Donate page and following the instructions to make a payment via your preferred payment method.

What payment methods are accepted?

We currently accept payments through PayPal accounts, directly through debit/credit cards, or via MBWAY (if you reside in Portugal).

Where does my donation go?

Your contribution supports vetted environmental organizations dedicated to emission reduction and sustainability projects. Please refer to our website for a full list of the projects we are currently supporting.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Depending on your country, donations to ZEW may be tax-deductible. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for specific information.

How can I get involved beyond donating?

Apart from donations, you can support ZEW by spreading awareness or volunteering in projects aligned with our mission. Reach out to us through info@zeroemissionsworld.org for more details on participation.

Can I choose which projects my donation funds?

Yes, you can! Once you are on the Missions page, you can find details about each mission and select the one that most appeals to you.

Are there any fees associated with donations?

PayPal may charge a small processing fee, and ZEW charges 10% fee to help with covering solely our IT infrastructure costs.

Can I set up recurring donations?

Yes. You can set up monthly or yearly recurring donations through PayPal, or via standing orders in your banking app, to continue supporting ZEW’s operations.
